Welcome

Kitschy began on a summer afternoon when Rebecca and Lisa browsed through an estate sale. They bought a beautiful piece of furniture together and started a business that day! Antiqueing, Thrifting, Flea Markets...that's what they do! They search for one of a kind flea market finds, estate sale treasures, and garage sale fixer uppers. They do the rigorous leg work for you and put in the hours of elbow grease needed to refinish a piece of furniture. (They also pick up lots of fun trinkets, bric brac and artwork along the way!) They have a year round booth that is packed full of inventory at The Parker Shoppes. They also participate in the Paris Street Market May thru October where you are sure to find a one-of-a-kind piece no matter how big or small!

Established 2011- "Let's get 'er done!"

Since this is our premiere post we thought a little background info would be nice.  We have been acquaintances for some years but it wasn't until the Pioneer Trek and Girls Camp that we started to develop a friendship.  We have a ton in common, among them, we each have 3 kids all the same age and gender.  Now both sets of our girls are BFF's.  We love decorating, painting, thrift shopping and antiqueing!   In other words, we just clicked!  We both love to repurpose furniture and thought how fun it would be to do it for a living.  One Saturday afternoon, we hit an estate sale in the neighborhood, bought a beautiful piece of furniture together and started our business at that moment!  "Kitschy" was born and we now have a booth at the Colorado Antique Gallery (Broadway & Littleton Blvd.)!  All of our pieces were picked and designed with love and purpose.  We compare our prices regularly with other antique dealers and the Pottery Barn-type stores.  Kitschy is so much lower we're wondering if we are too low priced!!  But, our objective is to offer our customers the bargains that we know everybody loves.  We know what it is like to pinch your pennies which is why we offer such screamin' deals.

We started this blog to show off all our great stuff!  We encourage you to stop by our booth and let us know what you think!  (If you are familiar with that particular antique store, our booth is located toward the back of Jamison Street.)  Let us know if there is something that you like on our blog.  No price is firm and we are willing to haggle with the price for you 'cause you're special to us!

Because Kitschy has become such a big part of our lives, we will post photos of our journey too!  So far, it has been crazy fun!! Here is our first outdoor show called the "Towne and Country Market" put on by The Barn in Castle Rock.  We crammed every piece we had into our booth!

Lisa putting on some finishing touches!

Rebecca rearranging and pricing!

Our hubbies were a HUGE help this day... Brad (Lisa's) pulled the Kitschy inventory with his truck!  We followed behind him to Castle Rock to insure that nothing fell off the trailer!  So, of course, on the highway a drawer from one of our metal dressers came loose and went flying off the trailer!  John (Rebecca's) turned his car around and actually found the drawer on the side of the highway with just a few scratches!!  Luckily noone was hurt with this mishap and we have since learned to tie and tape down everything!!

Samantha trying to stay warm.

Our daughters decided to advertise for us.  They grabbed our Kitschy sign and headed to the street corner and screamed!

The best part of the day for our girls was riding on the trailer as we got closer to home!
Brad took Megan, Sam and Emily on a bumpy ride through the neighborhood.  No one was strapped down...we almost lost Sam at this point!  Is this legal?

OK!!! Here is just a glimpse of our Kitschy inventory!   We are all about color and variety!  Don't be afraid to throw some color into your home!
